The Time it Takes (Part 2 on Time)

To value time keeps resurfacing in my personal reflections and now on this blog. But not from a point of view of speeding things up or how to be more efficient. Instead, it’s about allowing the time it takes to find the right solution and being okay with not having the answers “yet”. Many of my most creative ideas to problems, show up when I am not rushing and when I can think. Slowing down and editing the list of things to do in order to do the most important things well. I’ve been much more mindful about this and deliberately walk slower when I can and indulge in relaxed and more meaningful conversations. I want to pay attention to whats around me and know how it makes me feel.

Luxury companies often use time in their brand storytelling to add more value to their products. Clients are willing to pay higher prices for special designs they know took many hours of excellent craftsmanship to create, yet somehow rush to get things done for themselves. After 10 years of spending a significant amount of my time in Florence and admiring masterpieces by artists like Boticelli and Michelangelo, or working with some of the most renowned luxury fashion brands, I have truly understood the value of respecting time in order to create something remarkable and lasting. I have adopted this value in all of my work, whether it is brand consulting, teaching, or writing this blog. I assure to make time to prepare, think, discuss, refine and ultimately to succeed with a sense of calm and accomplishment.
