Quality Obsessed
One of my favourite aspects of working with brands in Italy is the obsession for quality. No detail goes ignored and everything must meet the established standards. This is the rule for food, furniture, hospitality and fashion. For me, its all I really know. As a child, we learned to invest well, choose the best, and take care of everything we had. In different words, less but better was the golden rule. Modernizing for the sake of a superficial fix, was rejected, instead, working towards building beauty that lasts was the way. To understand quality, one must be exposed to it and taught the value. Conversations about quality and excellence are fundamental to preservation. This is what the Italian culture is so brilliant at doing. Whether talking about the ingredients in food or the fabric of fashion, teaching is paramount. The obsession with quality and the obsession with sharing, is the perfect recipe for maintaining excellence. Its also fundamental to reject poorly made products. In my lectures or when working with clients, this is my philosophy and for over 15 years of consulting has proven to work. This attitude benefits design, reputation, society and the environment. No compromise and quality first.
