Lamborghini Standards

I recently had the good fortune of visiting the Lamborghini factories in Italy's Emilia-Romagna region. The word perfection does not describe what I saw. While touring the facilities with my students from Purdue University studying my MADE IN ITALY: LEADING THE WORLD OF LUXURY course in Florence, I was of course amazed by the engineering and design, but also the precision, order, and beauty of their factory. Not one detail was ignored and everything was immaculate. Workers looked motivated, stylish and healthy. From what I saw, a place to be proud to work at, beyond the prestigious name.

I left the experience feeling inspired by the incredible design teams and all leaders who place high importance into process and order. The value of constant improvement and obsession with excellence was expressed at every angle. I also left feeling like many fashion companies could benefit with working with leaders from other industries. Sharing knowledge, gaining awareness and seeing what is possible has infinite value.
