If The Coffee is Good Then The People Will Come

Years ago, while reading Monocle Magazine, I came across a statement from an indie coffee shop owner who essentially spoke about staying authentic, keeping it real and focusing on quality. I immediately grabbed my pencil and paper and wrote his wise words down “If the coffee is good then the people will come.” This statement has stayed with me forever and reminds me daily on the the fact that if we stay true to our quality standards, focus on excellence, and stay focused, whether this is for a coffee shop or fashion boutique, the principle holds true.

The other aspect of this statement that resonates with me is the calm confidence. No sugar, thank you. In a world that encourages companies to constantly make noise, this sage’s words reminds us to concentrate on creating something great, and great things will follow.
