Communication As A Non Negotiable
Over the years I have come to the conclusion that some of my best results happens when the communication between my clients and my team is in sync and similar. Whether it was regarding time delays to reply to a message or the professionalism and politeness on an email, it always had a significant impact on the work flow and success of the project. In fact some of the most difficult professional experiences could have been avoided if I was more diligent and clear about my communication expectations.
Today I use communication style as an editing and filtering process to help me decide which clients to work with and which projects to accept. If the communication is going smoothly, I see this as a green light and keep going. On the other hand, when I see warning signs like rudeness or extreme delays to reply, I rethink the project and become very comfortable with saying no and moving on to something better. I also apply this rule to help my clients decide who to partner up with when they need to source different suppliers or agencies..
Laying down the foundations for clear , polite, and cohesive communication that is right for me and my teams has been so critical to excellent results and for everyone’s well-being, which is always a priority.
